Uniland’s company culture embraces health and wellness, as reflected in the healthy food options, wellness classes and fitness incentives we provide.
In recognition of the company’s wellness program and its results for our associates, Uniland was the winner in the small companies category of WNY’s Healthiest Employers for 2021 by Buffalo Business First. It is the eight consecutive year that Uniland has been named a winner or a finalist for the award.
As Buffalo Business First notes, “Uniland knows all about building real estate and a strong wellness program. You’ll find the 100 employees in the Buffalo office attending free onsite fitness classes at the Wellness Studio, attending lunch programs, and enjoying free and reduced-price fruit and healthy snacks.”
Highlights of Uniland’s employee wellness program include:
- The Wellness Studio: Since opening onsite in 2018, the facility complements the company’s gym. At the wellness studio, Uniland offers free onsite fitness classes to associates and family members during lunch and immediately following business hours. The program is currently suspended per COVID-19.
- Lunch-N-Learn: Uniland hosts presentation on wellness topics that are relevant employees. Recent sessions have addressed heart health, mindfulness, mindset courses by the Mental Health Advocates of WNY, healthy cooking, as well as others on financial wellness among other topics.
- FitWorks: Associates have access to a web-based platform to assess, monitor and improve their individual health and wellness activities with tailored resources from Independent Health.
Winners were announced at an awards event on August 26th at Buffalo RiverWorks.
