Next-Generation Nursing

A build-to-suit project reflecting the culture, requirements and opportunities of the fastest growing business unit of Kaleida Health, the VNA’s headquarters is empowering their team to meet rising demand for in-home healthcare services.

Located at 650 Airborne Parkway within Airborne Business Park in Cheektowaga, New York, the VNA’s new home is near the I-90 NYS Thruway and Route 33. It is within 20 minutes of 90 percent of Erie County’s population, enabling convenient patient visits.

The VNA’s arrival at Airborne Business Park has added a prominent healthcare tenant to a thriving office complex, which includes Chubb, Citizens Bank, M&T Bank, Qualcomm and Sodexo, among others. An additional 52,500-square-foot, two-story building at 600 Airborne Parkway has subsequently welcomed a health-related company to the site. The business park also features roughly 30 acres of shovel-ready land for commercial development with another five acres available across the street at 4747-4757 Genesee Street for potential retail and hotel opportunities.

Healthcare Hub

The VNA’s headquarters is the nexus of healthcare operations for a broad workforce. The facility houses 200 employees who work there daily, in roles ranging from information technology and patient support services to human resources and compliance staff. Additionally, the office features designated “touch down” spaces for the 400 clinicians to utilize the office after performing their duties in the field.

To foster a collaborative environment, the facility features areas that promote teamwork and wellness. The 10 conference rooms are named for the counties and communities the VNA serves. Additional highlights include training rooms for clinical medical skills, state-of-the-art video teleconferencing technology, a USP800-certified infusion pharmacy that is twice as large as the previous one with an advanced clean room, as well as expanded warehouse space—serviced by a loading dock—for medical equipment and supplies.

VNA Ribbon Cutting

New Horizons

VNA leadership and staff held their ribbon cutting ceremony in October 2019. They remarked on how integral Uniland’s guidance and expertise in planning, design, construction and property management was to reaching this historic day.

“The collaboration with our partners at Uniland was imperative to the success of our move. They were fantastic to work with,” said VNA President Judy Baumgartner.

“As the healthcare landscape continues to shift toward outpatient and home care, we are so proud of the VNA family for their achievements in providing best in class home health care. With their new office space, we are confident they will be even better equipped to continue growing and leading in the home care industry,” said Jody L. Lomeo, President and CEO of Kaleida Health.

The Brick by Brick Awards virtual ceremony will be held on Sept. 24.
