FeedMore WNY is advancing a $107 million construction project to build a 200,000-square-foot headquarters in Hamburg, addressing critical food supply and distribution space shortages. The unified facility will be located on a 73.8-acre parcel on Camp Road which FeedMore purchased from Uniland in 2021. FeedMore WNY’s mission is to offer dignity, hope, and a brighter future by providing nutritious food, friendship, and skills training to our Western New York neighbors in need.
Uniland is working on this new facility that will vastly expand FeedMore’s available space, including a 76,735-square-foot warehouse and 46,950-square-foot commissary and office space. The new facility will more than double FeedMore’s current operational capacity. The project builds on Uniland’s 50-year legacy of impactful projects with major nonprofit organizations including BestSelf Behavioral Health, Heritage Christian Services, Horizon Health Services, Catholic Charities, Catholic Health, the Visting Nursing Association, The Summit Center, People Inc., Canisius University, D’Youville University, and Canisius High School, among others.
“This is a time of need for FeedMore WNY; we cannot effectively serve our community with the critical capacity constraints of our current facilities, and we need Western New York’s support to secure the space and infrastructure we require to continue our mission,” says Tara A. Ellis, president and CEO of FeedMore WNY.
Trautman Associates and Buffalo Construction Consultants are also involved in the project.
