For nearly 50 years, Uniland Development Company has been active across Western New York in its support of local businesses, organizations, and development programs whose purpose is to benefit all people across the region.
Uniland Executive Chairman Carl J. Montante, and his son, Chief Executive Officer Michael J. Montante, are ranked high among Buffalo Business First’s Power 250, a list of the most influential Western New Yorkers in 2023. This is the 11th consecutive year that they have been highlighted on the list. Michael was listed No. 26 and Carl was listed No. 90, respectively. Both are active in many organizations in Western New York, including Canisius College, D’Youville University, Catholic Health, the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House, and The Buffalo Club.
In 2020, Michael Montante succeeded Carl Montante as the company’s CEO. Carl Montante founded the family-run privately held firm in 1974. Since the company’s origins with a single warehouse in Tonawanda, Uniland has developed more than 16 million square feet throughout the Buffalo-Rochester corridor, including over eight million square feet under management.
