Laura A. Zaepfel, Vice President of Corporate Relations at Uniland Development Company, has been highlighted by Buffalo Business First in the ‘Boasting Buffalo’ section, a feature on professionals making a difference in the Buffalo Niagara region.
In the profile, Ms. Zaepfel highlights Buffalo’s resurgence.
“It is exciting to see Buffalo as a city in the middle of a transformation. Buffalo is growing but there are still some blocks that need to be improved. But we are on our way. We are definitely getting there. How people think about the community now is a huge difference maker. People from outside the region are paying attention. Attitude does matter,” Ms. Zaepfel says.
She also touches upon the upward trajectory of the city, citing her optimism towards the region’s future.
“A key telltale for me is hearing about the children of my friends and associates saying they want to stay or come back to Buffalo. Buffalo has housing stock that people just starting out professionally can afford to buy. That’s a huge plus and a selling point,” she added.
Business First notes Ms. Zaepfel’s active involvement on regional boards and civic organizations, including the Amherst Chamber of Commerce—of which she is currently Board Chair—, the Beverly Gray Business Exchange, the Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s development advisory council, and the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park.
Additionally, she is a past board member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo and Canisius College, among others.
