In marking our 50th anniversary, below are some of the notable milestones in Uniland’s history:

1974: Uniland Development Company is founded by Carl J. Montante and Nancy R. Dobson at its first building, 260 Wales Avenue in the future Tonawanda Centre of Industry complex. Originally housing the nascent Uniland Development Company and the Montante family’s Broad Elm Tire Company, 260 Wales was a 57,000 SF, single-level flex/industrial facility that supported Uniland from its founding in 1974 until the expanding company moved to its current corporate headquarters at 100 Corporate Parkway, University Corporate Centre, in 1989.

1974: Uniland’s first major project was at the site of the carrousel and merry-go-round manufacturer, the Allan Herschell Company, in North Tonawanda. Developed as a senior living facility, the building included 14 levels with approximately 150 units.

1984: Sheridan Meadows Corporate Park in Amherst debuts. Later expanded with the development of two additional flagship buildings to the north of Sheridan Drive, this complex set the standard for new office space and continues to be one of Uniland's flagship office developments.
